Yesterday my esteemed colleague Tyler Coates ranked the oeuvre of Wes Anderson in descending order of quality. You can read the post here, but the sequence is as follows: Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, Bottle Rocket, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and The Darjeeling Limited. Although he didn’t explicitly state it, he told me IRL that he “would rank Moonrise Kingdom between The Royal Tenenbaums and Fantastic Mr. Fox.” Although I like Mr. Coates as a person and think he does a stellar job as the Senior Editor of BlackBook, I believe his appraisal fails in several important ways. The first is that it is wrong.

Another Man’s Opinion: Ranking Wes Anderson’s Filmography

Both of these lists make me ask the question: am I the only person who enjoyed The Darjeeling Limited? I don’t know anyone in real life who actually liked it either, but it’s my second favorite Wes Anderson film after The Royal Tenenbaums, and it’s one of those films I can watch when I’m sick over and over again. (The people who didn’t like Darjeeling didn’t like Tenenbaums either, so I figure they’re the ones that are nuts).

This list astounds me… Darjeeling Limited last, really? REALLY? This movie is in my top ten list. When Peter carries the dead child out of the river and mutters without expression ‘I didn’t save mine’, it’s pretty much one of the saddest moments in my personal experiences in cinema. Gets me every time.

Similar to my feelings on Darjeeling Limited.

Speaking of Wes Anderson, anyone for going to see it?

T-Rexes were born in wee little eggs, and they came out all tiny and adorable. I know, I know: paleontologists have been saying this for years, but we never believed them because they couldn’t produce tiny adorable plushies to prove it. UNTIL NOW.

Micro T-Rex is three inches of soft and fuzzy adorable, and comes with that removable plastic keychain clip you see pictured, so he’s ready to hang out wherever you go! He is Down for Hangouts!

Me: That means it is transparent. It wont show up.

Me: Scout’s honor, that background will show up transparent. JPGs backgrounds can’t be transparent.

Client: Is there a way to get rid of the white background on the jpg?

Me: Yeah, but it can only to be replaced with another color.

I hid the file extension and added .jpg to the file name. My client couldn’t be more pleased with his computer wizardry.
